Time Out, Ladies for Tea, Toast, & Talk,

Since our last meeting in March, we certainly have had time to think about and do some of the things we discussed that day. I have missed you and pray you are well, encouraged, and trusting God in this time of uncertain circumstances. Oddly, we should be trusting God at all times: certain or uncertain. I am reminded of a Corrie Ten Boom quote “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God,” and a line from an old song that says, “Fear not tomorrow – God is already there!” So I trust you are each walking closely with God and that you have that “peace that passes all understanding.”

Now back to March. We talked about spring cleaning our homes, weeding or cleaning out negative relationships and influences that are dragging us down, and asking God to create a clean heart in each of us. With this staying home. physical distancing, and plenty of hours in a day, we were given the time to work on these topics. That is, unless you are a nurse or work at a store that was deemed necessary. So, how are you doing?

a short time of debriefing as we then press on with life

When we gather together again, maybe you’d like to share what and how you “cleaned up” your home, life, and heart, and how God helped you. How did He reveal himself to you in this season of rest or stress? This might be sort of a short time of debriefing as we then press on with life.

Roots is the next topic I’d like us to think about. The roots in the garden, roots in your family, and roots in Jesus. If you would please bring an item that tells us about your family heritage – like a “show and tell.” And then I would love for us to share how our roots in Christ and the scriptures kept us anchored in faith and not fear these few months. Yes, we will try to keep to the timer and cover as much territory as we can.

I’m excited and looking forward to seeing you again and learning about your family “roots” and your faith “roots.” In the meantime continue to trust God and keep yourself rooted in Him. Love, Sharon
